No more caution needed...

Okay!! After months of dealing with an un-cooperative blog spot, (just to be nice I will not mention any names), I have finally found a comfortable, fun and easy place in which to place my blogs. I've been sitting at this darn computer longer than I normally would on any given Saturday, when I'm not writing my novel, so it's a sure sign that I have finally found my place.

Welcome to my world...where it's all about ME! Let the fun begin!

I have started this happy blog with the pictures of two precious children who came into this world on exactly the same day. ;-) First of all, my best friend in the entire world, Laura, delivered her first baby girl, who is also child number three - named Shori Lyn. Wow, what an amazing day! Both my husband and I were able to be in the delivery room when Shori came into the world. In fact, I had the camera in hand when Laura's husband asked if I wanted to cut the cord myself. Did I ever! Being 37 years old, and having no children of my own - this was indeed a precious moment for me. Laura was giggling during the delivery, and the way she and her husband were staring at one another with tears in their eyes made the skin on my arm tingle. We couldn't get enough of Shori that day - I never wanted to put her down. We left the hospital that morning, but came back in the afternoon for dinner. It was hard to let her go. Laura and I were able to share a few moments alone talking about our lives and her children. I never felt closer to her. Her boys, Justin and Tegan have made me the happiest Auntie in the entire world. And now I have a little girl to look forward to. I will cherish every moment I spend with these precious children.

So all my life I dreamed of having a baby on the same day as my best friend. Well, life doesn't always work out the way we plan, darn it anyway! However, in the beautiful land of Tennessee, another special friend of mine delivered her first child on the same day as Laura - and he was a very handsome baby boy named Kaydn Robert. His mother Karen was the very first person who be-friended me when I'd moved to Colorado years ago, and to this day she has remained a very precious and fun friend in my life. She'd been trying to have a baby for quite some time, so this was an amazing blessing for her. When she first sent me a picture of her new son, I couldnt stop crying for joy and thinking just how wonderful the Lord is! I am so happy for her and her family, and I look forward to the time when they will bring Kaydn home to Colorado so we can visit with him.

My husband and I hold each other tightly each night as we pray, longing for the day when we will be fortunate enough to hold a child in our arms, a child of our very own. We know the Lord loves us, and that someday we will be lucky enough to have our own family. But for now, we will be patient, and enjoy all the blessings that come from being the great Aunt Jen and Uncle Bob. ;-) Trust me, we have found positive sides to being alone in our home, and we count ourselves extremely lucky.

Of course, we're never truly alone. Bob's little brothers live in the basement of our home. And we recently adopted a kitten that we named Galaxy - affectionately called "Lixy." She is so much fun, and she brings so much joy in our lives. We constantly surround ourselves with our family and with our friends, so we never truly have time to get lonely. We are officially on the adoption list with LDS Family Services, and we've had two close calls where we almost got picked to be the parents. So....with all my heart I know that someday children WILL happen for us... if not in this life, then definitely the next.

Time for a BBQ dinner with our boys!! My husband and I recently purchased this beautiful home in Denver, and his little brothers Larry and Darin live in the basement. In a way, Bob and I feel like we are parents for them - they are slightly handicap and need assistance in their living, especially after loosing their precious father back in October of 2007. But anyway, we love being out in the yard and spending time together- it's so spacious and green back there. We're doing yardwork to remove ugly trees and bushes, and my mother in law has been coming over to teach me about gardening and caring for my new rose bushes. I can see how this will easily become a new passion for me. But anyhow, I will blog again soon. ;-) Until then...
